The province of Phang-nga is located some 788 kilometres from Bangkok. It covers an area of 4,170 square kilometres. .
Phang-nga is a province with two characters - land and sea - and packed with national parks that guard magnificent scenery with immensely different attractions.
Most famous is Ao Phang-nga National Park, a geological wonder filled with islets, sunken caverns and startling rock formations rising sheer out of the sea. The bay is extremely sheltered ideal for expeditions of sea canoes to explore the many fascinating caverns with their own eco-systems.
Phang-nga's Andaman coast offers parks of a different kind. The island groups of Surin and Similan are renowned for their beautiful unspoilt beaches and spectacular underwater scenery, attracting divers from around the world. Khao Lak is a coastal park full of birds, mammals and scenic waterfalls, with a number of hotel developments after Tsunami disaster in December 2004.

On the North Is Ranong province and Surat Thani province.
On the South Is Phuket province and Andaman Sea.
On the East Is Surat Thani province and Krabi province.
On the West Is Andaman Sea.
Climate
Phang-nga' weather is well. The weather conditions are dominated by monsoon winds that blow year round, the monsoon blows from the northeast and southwest. So there are only 2 seasons in Phang-nga, the summer and rainy. The summer begins in January and lasts till April. The rainy is from May through December. The average temperatures between at 17-38 degree Celsius.
Transportation
By road from Bangkok, take Route 4, passing Prachuab Khirikan, Chumporn, and Ranong, Total distance is 788 kms. And travel time to Phang-nga Town is approximately 12 hours.
By Car from Phuket, use route 402 and drive north over Sarasin Bridge into Phang Nga province. Keep heading north and take route 4 along the west coast passing through the towns of Kok Kloy, Thai Muang, pass Khaolak Lamru National Park and then Nang Thong Beach or Khaolak Centre. Khaolak Oriental Resort is on Nang Thong beach in the centre of Khaolak connected to Khaolak Bhandari Resort & Spa. Travel time is about 90 minutes.
